Moschino launches “Hidden Lock”

Moschino presents the new “Hidden Lock” bag for Spring/Summer 2018, a smart, sophisticated model that evokes the lines and details of the Seventies, revisiting its aesthetic with a contemporary spirit. Available in two styles and sizes, small and medium, the new it-bag created by Jeremy Scott has a distinctive construction with a pressure clasp hidden by a small stylized pocket, customized with raised Moschino lettering. Inspired by the classic tuck-lock satchels of the ’70s, the two versions are an expression of exceptional Made in Italy craftsmanship, with special leatherwork on calfskin and quilted nappa, highlighted by hand-lacquered ribbing and exclusive finishes that lend character to this accessory. The saddle shape is defined by tone-on-tone embossed stitching that gives movement to bag’s texture, enhancing...

Diane Von Furstenberg Spring-Summer 2018

Jonathan Saunders’ Summer 18 collection for DVF is a range of day-focused clothes with an air of romance and nostalgia. “I was thinking first of the color palette. It felt interesting to me to combine and surround bright prints and textile designs with neutral earthy colors. I was imagining hazy summer days; interiors of wicker and tapestries; bias cut ribbons of silk draped over the body, but also thinking of the eccentricity and the free spirit of a musician on the road,”says Saunders. Feminine and dreamy, the clothes evoke natural movement and energy. Full blouson sleeves, smocking, and pin-tucking bring architectural volume to the silhouette. The clothes are cut and worn with ease: a wrap-style dress with kimono-inspired top, tie-front shirting, and...

Gucci Resort 2019

Alessandro Michele, Italian fashion designer and creative director of Gucci, found a way to transport the audience with the Gucci Resort 2019 show. Taking place in the Alyscamps, a Roman cemetery outside of the old town of Arles, France, the show was a spectacular nighttime display of both fashion and epic ancient history.   Gucci Resort 2019 displayed a gothic attitude, various streetwear elements, and death and religious-inspired details that appropriately matched the location. There were floral silk prints, tiger patterns, velvet dresses, embroidered capes, and fur coats. Models held flower bouquets and appeared out of the fog, creating a strange yet fascinating spooky-Catholic image. Embroideries were filled with references to local history and some outfits even featured poetry by a famous Italian...

Coach 1941 Resort 2019

Los Angeles lounge lizards and the Viper Room inspired Stuart Vevers' glam/grunge resort lineup. In the last few seasons, Stuart Vevers has had Coach on a cross-country road trip of sorts. You can trace the route of his inspiration through space and time, from the gritty downtown sidewalks of Keith Haring’s New York, through the rolling plains of the American West at the turn of the century. The latest stop lands the brand in the netherworld of Los Angeles, specifically the dark, smoke-filled rooms of legendary Hollywood hangout, the Viper Room, circa 1992.   The British creative director has vivid memories of visiting the club on his first trip to the West Coast 20 years ago, and that moody rock ’n’ roll vibe...
