Longchamp SS19 – Western-Chic.

Staging an inaugural NYFW runway show for RTW, which completes a year of 70th anniversary celebrations for the brand, Longchamp's Sept 8 runway show was a riot of western-chic. Luxe leather jackets, complete with long fringing on the hems and sleeves makes for covetable outerwear, festival attendance not mandatory. The umber-red hued, Western cut suede jacket, sported by model-of-the-moment Kaia Gerber, was particularly enticing. And with the matching mini-shorts making it a co-ord, expect to see this whole outfit replicated countless times come next year's festival circuit. ...

DREAMING AT TIFFANY’S IN NEW YORK

Perhaps jewellery isn’t the only thing Tiffany & Co. will be known for. After watching this video, one might conclude that the brand has a mastery over storytelling and is a creator of powerful visuals and surprisingly, music. The jewellery brand recently unveiled its “Believe in Dreams” campaign, a video and song showcasing the new Tiffany Paper Flowers jewellery collection, as seen on Elle Fanning. The dream-like video – which embodies the essence of Tiffany – opens with the American actress in a black and white scene as she peers into the Fifth Avenue’s flagship window, a clear praise to the opening scene from one of the most classic films of all time, Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961). Her reality then transforms into an ethereal...

DIOR’S SADDLE-BAG IS BACK

Inspired by the bursts of creativity that defined the year 1968, when the rules of fashion were turned upside down, Dior’s creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri channeled such thoughts when piecing together the Autumn/Winter 2018-2019 ready-to-wear collection. Guided by this attitude advocating a search for authenticity and a willingness to ruffle fashion’s feathers and tear down established codes, the gorgeous saddle bags of this collection are no exception. Inspired by both this desire for freedom and the Maison’s heritage, the saddle bag historically made its debut in the Spring/Summer 2000 ready-to-wear collection, designed in 1999 by John Galliano (then creative director of Dior), bowing down to the world of equestrianism, with its form mimicking a horse saddle decorated with a gild...

Urban Decay’s New Elements Eyeshadow Palette

Where one legendary eye shadow palette ends, another begins. Less than a week after discontinuing the iconic Naked Palette to make way for "even more greatness," Urban Decay has given us a first glimpse at some of that "greatness."   On Tuesday, the makeup company unveiled its first post-Naked eye shadow palette, and it does not disappoint. Called Elements, the palette features 18 new shades in a wide holographic range — eight metallics, three mattes, and eight shimmers, according to an Instagram post on the brand's page — and one "ultra-iridescent transformer shade" called Luna, which appears as a shimmery white in the palette. While 19 new Urban Decay shades would be reason enough to celebrate, the packaging is fantastic, too. Featuring a...

Prada Cinéma Evolution, the new Prada Eyewear digital project, is an ironic foray into the myriad facets of the female identity. Inspired by the dreamlike power of film, Prada Cinéma Evolution lets dreams flow with a surprising and amusing projection of personal memories. A TV commercial, an unexpected sound, a reflection in a mirror and a birthday cake are moments that emerge and entwine in a very personal film about a young woman on a sunny summer day. The sunglasses and eyewear of the new Prada Cinéma collection are the stars of the story, a narrative device triggering a playful dichotomy between perspective and perception, subject and object and leaving the viewer to ponder the question: "Are you the observer or the...
