Christian Dior’s Resort 2019 Collection Taps Mexican Female Rodeo Riders
Christian Dior announced that it would be taking its Resort 2019 show to France’s Chantilly Stables. Located 30 miles from Dior’s Paris headquarters, the location proved a stunning setting for Maria Grazia Chiuri‘s sophomore Resort line for the house, despite a bout of inclement weather that poured through the open-air hippodrome.
The collection’s primary source of inspiration drew from Mexican female rodeo riders called escaramuza, who were in fact flown in to open and close the runway presentation via a series of synchronized galloping choreography. Keeping with Chiuri’s delicately feminine flair, the range was a stunning display of equestrian-tinged ready-to-wear marked by ornate embroidery, floral prints, rodeo hats, wide leather belts, pleated long skirts and lots of cotton lace.
