Bullitt Group and Land Rover recently introduced the Land Rover ‘Explore’ — the first car-branded ‘ruggedized’ smartphone designed primarily for active travelers who go to places with challenging environmental conditions. The Explore has protection against water, dust, heat and accidental falls. The handset also has a prolonged battery life as well as protection against extreme temperatures and thermal shock.
Another key feature of the Explore is the touchscreen, which can be used with wet fingers and while wearing gloves, which is essential for phones intended to be used primarily outdoors. In addition, the phone is equipped with a highly precise GPS system, special SOS flashlight, compass and map specifically designed for off-road vehicles.
The phone is a collaboration between Land Rover and Bullitt Group, and comes with the Android Nougat operating system which will be upgraded to Oreo in the near future.
The Land Rover Explore will go sale in April, starting from $699.
