Maison Margiela is no stranger to the realm of iconoclastic design, especially when one considers much of the conceptual vision that brought the renowned imprint to the forefront of fashion. The luxury fashion house re-emphasized its unique approach to design late last year with the introduction of its new Fusion Sneaker, highlighting a chaotic bricolage of materials through stitched duct tape panels, supple leathers, mesh, and even directly-applied translucent glue. Now the sneaker has returned in an eye-popping black and silver colorway.
As is normative with the sneaker, the new iteration takes on an impeccably distressed look — its duct tape panels meet various mesh and leather details, all looking as if spray painted in a silver tone. More details include its off-kilter lace-up fastening system, painted midsoles, and a chunky-yet-slim rubber outsole.
