Alexander Wang – Spring 2020 Ready-to-Wear

The designer’s Rockefeller Center show—the first ever held at the venue, he proudly noted, and a spot extremely well-suited for the kind of public-facing event he’s tried to pull off in the past—was divided into sections. Donna Karan got the Wang treatment to start. Decades after she did them, her bold shoulders and no-fuss stretch jersey bodysuits still signal power—a testament to how groundbreaking her early collections were. Logo tees, denim in ’90s-ish light blue washes, and underwear as outerwear were the Calvin Klein codes Wang picked up on. Of the trinity, Wang’s chilled-out, sexy aesthetic is most closely aligned with Klein’s, only here a shy Pete Davidson of Saturday Night Live fame stood in for Marky Mark, and did a rather irresistible...

Alexander Wang “Protect Your Wang”

The limited-edition collection includes a hat, t-shirt, bandana, and socks—all of which are emblazoned with the message "Protect Your Wang." Serving as the pièce de résistance of the collaboration, however, are the Alexander Wang-branded condoms.   A free Wang condom will come with every item purchased from the collection, but the designer himself (along with the #WangSquad) will also be handing them out on Sunday, June 24 at the New York City Pride March. As part of the collab, Wang additionally created a Protect Your Wang parade float that will be at this year's march. Alexander Wang x Trojan Condoms t-shirt “Pride has always been one of my favorite moments of the year, and it’s even more amazing when you can engage with your friends...

adidas Originals by Alexander Wang Season 3 – Drop 3

adidas Originals and Alexander Wang launch the last drop of Season 3 at select retaillocations, adidas Originals and Alexander Wang flagship locations, and both brands’ ecommerce sites. Inspired by flaws in the clothing production process, the collection turns errors into thefoundation of the collection. With pixelated graphics, uneven prints, and perma-wrinkled fabrics, rejection is established as the new perfection. The inspiration behind Drop 3 comes from a fictional unlabeled box found in the adidas archives, full of forgotten, untouched, forever-folded (and creased) samples. With new textures and fabric breakthroughs, adidas Originals & Alexander Wang seek to reimagine core adidas staples, as well as new pieces such as crop tops, skirts, and dresses. In a feat of material invention, each piece is perma-wrinkled for a discarded...

adidas Originals by Alexander Wang SS18 – Drop 2

adidas Originals and Alexander Wang return for Season 3 of their subversive collaboration of footwear and apparel, available on May 19th at select retailers, adidas Originals and Alexander Wang flagship locations, and both brands’ e-commerce sites. Inspired by production errors and factory inconsistencies, the collection elevates mistakes, turning them into the foundation of the range. Pixelated graphics, uneven printing, and perma-wrinkled fabrics establish rejection as the new perfection. Drop 2 finds its inspiration in workwear. The exciting, easy-to-wear pieces are defined by electrifying, pixelated cable-inspired motifs that spell out care instructions like “caution: do not remove” in English and German. The language is emblazoned irregularly across pants, tees, dresses, and jackets.     Crafted from heavy pique, the AW Crew and AW Joggers form...
