Yayoi Kusama’s and Takashi Murakami’s Louis Vuitton Collaborations Lead Auction

Bonhams has announced an upcoming auction called “Luxury Online,” which will give prospective buyers the opportunity to purchase rare bags from Louis Vuitton and Chanel.   The bags in question are some of the brands’ most collectible pieces. For example, the incredibly rare Yayoi Kusama x Louis Vuitton Speedy 30 handbag is leading the auction, while other notable pieces destined for the auction block include the Takashi Murakami x Louis Vuitton Alma 30 bag — which is covered in the artist’s famous multicolored pastel rendition of the LV monogram. Elsewhere, Bonhams presents a range of Chanel bags and accessories that were only sold at Asian boutiques in the 1990s. Oddities include a cube bag covered in hair, and another covered in a mountainous print. Take a look at a selection of bags on offer from...

Goyard Channels Snoopy Prints for 2020 Capsule

Goyard is tapping PEANUTS nostalgia for a brand new bag capsule. The Parisian luxury house has emblazoned boisterous Snoopy prints over a set of bags and wallets.   Highlighted in the range are tote bags colored in green, yellow, black, white and red, stamped with the label’s signature monogram. Each bag is vividly accented with two-toned stripes that cut through the center. Sitting at the top of them are various Snoopy motifs, like depictions of the character taking a nap or reading a book. The bags are trimmed with leather at the edges, complemented by sleek handles, as a final touch to the collaborative designs. A set of Snoopy-clad wallets complete the concise capsule. Goyard’s limited-edition 2020 Snoopy capsule with PEANUTS will be available on August 21 exclusively...

Dior Classics Get a Colorful

Few bags look as cool and uberchic as a matte bag. There's something about the monochrome tone and understated hardware of a matte bag that looks effortlessly stylish. While many brands have given some of their bags a monochrome makeover, few are as coveted as Dior's Ultra-Matte bags. Late last year we took an in-depth look at Dior's Ultra-Matte bags, which the brand debuted in both black and white. This finish was offered on House classics like the Lady Dior, the reissued Saddle bag, and the Diorama. The bags are as unique and eye-catching in person as they are on screen, and now for the warmer months Dior has taken its matte finish to the next level. Fans of the brand can...

Gucci just showcased its Fall/Winter 2020 collection at Milan Fashion Week, taking the audience through the full show experience starting by entering backstage and watching each model get dressed before taking their spot on a rotating stage. The imagination of Alessandro Michele always surprises and innovates, and for this season’s collection, the designer went back into the Gucci archives to bring back its iconic Jackie bag.   Previously debuted in the Fall/Winter 2020 menswear collection in January, the Jackie bag is now being brought back as a part of the womenswear range as well. Arriving in a handful of spring-ready colors including blue and pink, the accessory sports a gold metal hardware clasp at front, as well as a retro-inspired top carry handle. The bag will release in two sizes,...

Look at the Celine Triomphe Bag

It’s been over a year since the Celine Triomphe Bag popped up on Celine’s website along with the rest of Hedi Slimane’s debut collection for the brand. In that time the bag has slowly, but steadily found its way into the hands of some of our favorite style stars. Selena Gomez, Angelina Jolie, Brie Larson, Emilia Clarke and Karlie Kloss have all been spotted with the Triomphe bag in tow. When these VIP ladies take notice, so do we, and while this isn’t the first Celine by Hedi Slimane bag we’ve lusted after, it also likely won’t be the last. The mainline Triomphe comes in three sizes, though we photographed the medium in white, which retails for $3,550, and the red in the teen size, which you can buy for $3,100, both...

The Ultimate Bag Guide: Bottega Veneta The Pouch

No one quite knew what to expect from Daniel Lee when Kering announced he would take over as creative director at Bottega Veneta. The 32-year-old Brit’s last post was director of ready-to-wear at Celine, but he wasn’t a choice many expected to take over Tomas Maier’s role. His lack of social media presence is unexpected from a millennial and the brand had such a strong DNA of what to expect from Maier’s vision, that any change would be quite different. But in his short time at the house, he’s turned the brand from what was perceived as older, safe classics to multiple major hits and covetable shoe options that continue to be hard to track down. This is Daniel Lee’s Bottega...

A Very Different Chanel for Spring 2020

This collection was far more demure than what we’ve come to expect from runway shows and the over-the-top settings and themes Lagerfeld seamlessly presented season after season. Every item may not have been ideal for everyday wear, but there was a strong cohesion and playfulness that helped create some of the most memorable bags that quickly turned into collectors items. Viard has big shoes to fill as she discovers her own essence at Chanel, but if this collection is a look at what to expect, it will be far different from Lagerfeld. A few classics were spotted with tonal metal hardware matching the bright blue and green leather. As for new designs, there was a cylindrical wristlet with a cursive Chanel...
