Prada Brings Re-Nylon Collection to Selfridges Corner Shop

Prada is set to take over the Corner Shop section of Selfridges from August 17, returning to the famous retailer with a full Re-Nylon collection. Prada initially announced the launch of Re-Nylon in 2019, revealing how the sustainable material was constructed from plastic waste collected from oceans, fishing nets and textile fiber waste.   The Re-Nylon collection available at Selfridges features classic Prada pieces, including men’s and women’s ready-to-wear as well as accessories, created from black regenerated nylon. The Corner Shop space will emphasize the collection’s sustainable focus, featuring short films from National Geographic along with animations of natural elements and showing the process of creating Re-Nylon. Kim Jones departed Louis Vuitton for Dior over two years ago and since then the famed menswear designer has spent his time refreshing Dior Men's. Jones has long been known for his knack for reinventing luxury couture for men, first at Louis Vuitton and now at Dior. Last season, Jones' runway presentation for Men's Fashion week took place in Miami and his collection quite literally stole the show, introducing not one, but two covetable collaborations. The first, with Nike's Jordan Brand and the second with the iconic streetwear brand Stussy. Prada’s FW19 Campaign Captures the Spirit of Love and Romance

Prada’s Fall/Winter 2019 runway show — though laced with references to horror movies — was meant to be a “romantic” presentation, as explained by creative director Miuccia Pradaduring Milan Fashion Week in January. Months later, the Italian label has rekindled that same spirit of love and enchantment for its corresponding FW19 campaign, highlighting its upcoming menswear and womenswear collections through artistic and floral-imbued visuals.   Meant to explore “tension between man and nature,” the images set opposing ideas within the same context. The inside of an industrial warehouse gets transformed into an outdoorsy scene, housing colorful wildlife and bushes in order to connect the liveliness of nature with the hardness of the indoors. Lush flowers and greenery get juxtaposed against concrete slabs. All the while,...

Prada Cinéma Evolution: The New Eyewear Project

Prada Cinéma Evolution, the new Prada Eyewear digital project, is an ironic foray into the myriad facets of the female identity. Inspired by the dreamlike power of film, Prada Cinéma Evolution lets dreams flow with a surprising and amusing projection of personal memories. A TV commercial, an unexpected sound, a reflection in a mirror and a birthday cake are moments that emerge and entwine in a very personal film about a young woman on a sunny summer day. The sunglasses and eyewear of the new Prada Cinéma collection are the stars of the story, a narrative device triggering a playful dichotomy between perspective and perception, subject and object and leaving the viewer to ponder the question: "Are you the observer or the...
